I simply could not sew as well as I now can, without my favourite set of tools, which I made myself! from a pattern from Love U Bunches at Pixie Faire, for miniature Pressing Tools. The seam roll is easily tucked inside an almost completed (or finished) garment, even the sleeves (I have made a skinner one for tinier dolls’ clothes). The pressing ham is perfect – I love that both are to be stuffed with sawdust (in my case, gathered from on and around a carpenter neighbour’s workbench – smells so good too!) This pattern also includes tips for using pressing cloths (which I now also use all the time, and for my own clothes as well!) – pressing cloths aids successful ironing all kinds of fabrics I previously hesitated to use, not just cotton and muslin, but silk, velvet, corduroy (and my knitting). This is a really good pattern to follow.
(I hope I just succeeded in adding a link! I now feel more confidant, thanks to Dolltoberfest, in ‘uploading’ an ‘image’ and ‘inserting’ it into the text here: here’s hoping I succeed: it’s the cover of the pattern for these so-useful tools)
