i have an OG doll that needs her curls put back in. how do i do that? is a boil perm recommended for OGs? I know that they used to do that to Barbie.

she is a goodwill rescue doll and looked like she had dreadlocks when i got her. the picture is an improvement from when i bought her.
I don’t have experience with hair, but have you tried just curling it around your fingers to see if it responds. I wouldn’t use heat, but maybe try those sponge curlers and let them sit overnight?
I have tried curlers and the hair lost the curl when removed. Can you use people mousse or hair hair spray?
I rescue dolls at St Vincent de Paul’s and after trying downy dunk and not liking the result nor residual smell, I decide to try a hotwater dunk. From my expierence with donated My Life dolls, they definitely loosen up, so far I haven’t had any too loose but they haven’t been around as long as Battat dolls or American Girl dolls have. You can take the eyes out to paint if you want, but there’s always the chance that you could damage the new paint job putting them back in. You might be better off painting them while they’re still in.
