Voortrekker: South African Pioneer for 18 inch Dolls
The Voortrekkers (Afrikaans and Dutch for pioneers, literally “fore-movers”) were Afrikaner emigrants who left the original colony during the 1830s and 1840s and moved into the interior of what is now known as South Africa. This was called “The Great Trek”. With this PDF pattern you can make a simple pioneer dress with a Basque waist and peter pan collar. To complete the outfit are the patterns to sew bloomers, a bonnet and shawl. The dress closes with Velcro in the back.
