The Doll Days Skirt Challenge has been so much fun! I can’t get over how cute all the skirts are! I’m so impressed with everyone’s creativity and mad sewing skills!!
There’s still plenty of time! All it takes is the pattern (ebook download available-see bottom of post), a scrap of fabric (no more than a fat quarter), and a half an hour to an hour of sew time! That’s it 🙂
Even if you don’t want to sew a skirt and enter the challenge, you can join in by voting for your favorite skirt, starting Monday afternoon. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1531695323745834/
The 3 top prizes are half yard bundles of these Dear Stella fabrics, worth over $25 each. 1 winner will be chosen at random! Everyone receives this free bonus pattern : Doll Days Side Tie Top for American Girl Dolls.
Here are just some of the amazing skirts entered this week.
I had a halter top just like this when I was little–my mom made it to go with my Skooter Skirt (which is what we use to call skorts in the 70’s). Brings back some great summer memories!
Even made from swimwear fabric!
The tankini is a pattern in Doll Days also–with a special section for how to successfully sew with knits along photo tutorial!
There are almost 40 entries so far. Pop by the Avery Lane Pattern Sewing facebook group to admire them.
There is plenty of time to sew up a cute skirt. 3 variations are given in the book, but as you can see, the pattern is very open to your creativity as well! The ebook is available for immediate download and is extremely user-friendly. Over 15 patterns included (with all the variations).
Ebook is available on the C&T Publishing website: http://www.ctpub.com/doll-days-sew-an-everyday-wardrobe-for-18-dolls/
